Benguin v. 1.02
NetVibes
Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with RSS/Atom feeds. I don’t even remember what I did before I found out what they were, check websites everyday even if they weren’t updated? Those days seem like so long ago even if it was just a few months ago. Someone showed me today a new site called Netvibes which is a service that gives you the ability to create a custom web 2.0 page, much like the Google personal home pages and My Yahoo!. Where NetVibes tops these other two established services is in its ease of use, and its super clean look that is fully customizable. Besides having your feeds, the ability to search google/yahoo/MSN/Wikipedia, Gmail, weather, and a notepad; NetVibes also has a built-in podcast player so you can keep up-to-date with all your favorite shows no matter where you are. This service is ideal for anyone who travels often and doesn’t always have access to their computer. I haven’t had time to try out all of NetVibes features yet, and the only gripe that I have had so far is its lack of support for Safari, which as noted should be available soon. However this doesn’t even seem like that big of a problem for me because most of the time I am not at my computer, chances are I will be on a windows box. Everything being said, I still do this service no justice so just do yourself a favor and check this service out.
